In a sudden and tragic turn of events, the life of 19-year-old Jay'zion 'Jay' Mar'Quon Strong of Goodwater, Alabama, was cut short on June 9, 2024. A soon-to-be father, Strong was fatally wounded in a shooting that also left another man injured in the Kellyton area. His unexpected death left his family, friends, and community in mourning.
The Alexander City Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting that claimed Strong's life and resulted in the assault of 31-year-old Justin Shealey, also of Goodwater. Their efforts led to a significant development in the case with the arrest of 18-year-old Latavian Brownfield of Sylacauga.
