In the small city of Piedmont, Alabama, a domestic argument on a Saturday afternoon escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 36-year-old Ashley Marie Leonard. On September 14, 2024, police were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Hughes Street around 3:16 p.m. following a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered Ashley in a back bedroom with a gunshot wound to her head. She was unresponsive but still alive.
