On the night of May 25, 2015, 27-year-old Black/African American male Marquise Pope was shot inside a home on the 8300 block of Pokey Circle in south Anchorage. Police were called just before 11:25 p.m. and found the 27-year-old man dead from gunshot wounds. Neighbors later described hearing multiple shots, and officers encountered witnesses at the residence when they arrived near Lake Otis Parkway and 84th Avenue.
