On January 21, 2017, 17-year-old Jesus Isauro Oropeza was fatally shot in Anchorage, Alaska. Born on December 25, 1999, in Anchorage, Jesus was a junior at West High School and also attended AVAIL School. He worked at Wendy's and part-time for his grandfather at Fur Trader's of Alaska. Known for his love of fishing, boxing, camping, and watching football and wrestling, Jesus was remembered as a bright and compassionate individual who always sought to help others.
