Black/African American male Marvell V. Johnson, age 64, died on October 7, 2014, in Anchorage, Alaska. A beloved voice on public radio and a steady presence at the University of Alaska Anchorage, he was best known for hosting “Soul to Soul” on KSKA for decades and for a long career on UAA's custodial team. Friends and colleagues remembered his easy warmth and reliability as they prepared for services at Evergreen Memorial Chapel in downtown Anchorage.
