On December 7, 2021, 15-year-old Shatara Stone was fatally shot in Anchorage, Alaska. A sophomore at Bartlett High School, Shatara was driving with her mother to pick up her sister from elementary school when the incident occurred. She sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was hospitalized on life support for two days before succumbing to her injuries on December 9, 2021.
