On March 12, 2022, in North Pole, Alaska, 19-year-old Samuel J. Chastain tragically lost his life due to a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred during a gathering where Chastain and others were consuming alcohol and marijuana. At the party, 23-year-old Jubal James, a friend of Chastain, was handling a firearm he believed to be unloaded. While manipulating the weapon, James pointed it at Chastain and pulled the trigger, resulting in the fatal shot.
