On March 29, 2022, in Soldotna, Alaska, 29-year-old Zechariah Bowman was fatally shot by his roommate, 28-year-old Nathan Penrod. The incident occurred at their shared residence, where Penrod had been subletting a room from Bowman. The altercation began when Penrod discovered that his ex-fiancée, who had recently ended their decade-long relationship, had spent the night with Bowman.
