On August 19, 2023, the bodies of 31-year-old Timothy Evans and 32-year-old Jennifer Gardiner were discovered in a residence near Dillingham's airport. The Dillingham Police Department received a call that morning from a local resident reporting the discovery. Upon arrival, officers found both individuals deceased and, suspecting foul play, contacted the Alaska State Troopers.
