In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 17, 2019, the life of 37-year-old Ahmad Simms, a male resident of Southeast Washington, D.C., was tragically cut short. At approximately 5:20 a.m., law enforcement responded to a report of an assault in the 1800 block of Q Street, SE. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Simms unconscious and unresponsive inside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered what a police report described as 'blunt force trauma to the head'.
