On November 16, 2023, 45-year-old Anthony Cornelius Blount Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 10:50 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1000 block of 2nd Court West. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with an unoccupied parked car. Inside the driver's seat, Blount was found unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
