On August 9, 2023, 28-year-old Deon Jamal Dunklin was fatally shot following an altercation at Frosting's Hair Salon, located at 1433 Woodward Road in Midfield, Alabama. The incident occurred around 6:10 p.m. According to Midfield Police Chief Jesse Bell, an argument between Dunklin and another individual escalated, resulting in Dunklin being shot. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 6:44 p.m.
