On December 22, 2023, 21-year-old Michaya Jumese Parker was tragically killed in a head-on collision in Midfield, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:53 p.m. at the intersection of Bessemer Super Highway and Sugar Ray Drive. Parker was driving her vehicle when it was struck by a Ford F-150 driven by 25-year-old Emily Rose Cochran of Sylacauga. Cochran was fleeing from police in the stolen truck at a high rate of speed when she crossed into oncoming traffic, resulting in the fatal collision.
