On January 6, 2023, 28-year-old Cody Stewart was fatally shot by Gadsden Police officers during an incident on Hinsdale Avenue in Gadsden, Alabama. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was requested to investigate the officer-involved shooting. According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:39 a.m., and no officers were injured during the event.
