In the late summer of 2022, a dispute over the custody of a child tragically escalated, leading to the death of 29-year-old Christopher Lamar Tanks. On the evening of Sunday, September 11th, in the city of Bessemer, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, Tanks was involved in a child custody exchange that turned violent.
