On February 22, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a residence in the 500 block of 83rd Place South in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Demetrius John-Mario Young inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
