On a tragic afternoon in Northport, Alabama, the life of Tiffiney Nicole Barger, a 41-year-old Caucasian female, was cut short. On August 4, 2022, the mother of two was driving her Toyota Camry with her children on U.S. Highway 43. It was then that a Hyundai Elantra, traveling in the opposite direction, crossed the center line and collided with her vehicle head-on. Barger was killed in the impact, and her two children sustained serious injuries, including multiple fractures and extensive lacerations.
The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 25-year-old Zoe Raine Moore of Northport. An investigation into the fatal crash revealed that Moore was allegedly under the influence of marijuana at the time of the collision. Furthermore, a forensic analysis of her cell phone indicated that she was reportedly distracted by its use while driving, a factor that investigators believe was a significant contributor to the tragic accident.
Five months after the devastating crash, in January 2023, Zoe Raine Moore was arrested and faced multiple felony charges. She was charged with one count of manslaughter for the death of Tiffiney Nicole Barger. In addition to the manslaughter charge, Moore was also charged with two counts of first-degree assault for the severe injuries sustained by Barger's two children. Following her arrest, Moore was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and was later released on bond.
