On August 6, 2022, in Forestdale, Alabama, 29-year-old Ayobiyi Abeni Cook was found deceased in her home from a gunshot wound. Initially, her 12-year-old son reported that an intruder had fled the scene after the shooting. However, upon investigation, Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives found no signs of forced entry and determined that the boy's account was implausible.
