On a cold January morning in 2022, the body of 20-year-old John Christopher Taylor-Wilson, a male from the Maytown community, was discovered on the side of the road in a grassy area off of Eastern Valley Road at the entrance to a subdivision in the Bessemer area of Jefferson County. An autopsy would later confirm that he had been shot to death. The discovery was made by a passerby on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
