In the late hours of June 12, 2022, the life of Qra’Vonta Arquise Smith, a 22-year-old Black male from the Birmingham area, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded around 11:00 p.m. in Midfield, Alabama, on the 1300 block of 8th Avenue, where Smith was fatally shot.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, the shooting occurred during what was characterized as a domestic argument. Smith sustained fatal injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead.
Born on August 20, 1999, he was known to friends and family by the nickname YNIC Vontaa.
In the time that has passed since the shooting, authorities have not publicly released information regarding any arrests made in connection with the death of Qra’Vonta Arquise Smith, nor have any suspects been officially named.
