On February 17, 2021, 40-year-old Ogle Terrance Avery was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:18 a.m. at the Shell gas station located at 800 3rd Avenue West. According to the Birmingham Police Department, Avery was involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the gas station prior to being shot. After being wounded, he attempted to flee but collapsed in the roadway. Emergency responders transported him to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
