On a February evening in 2021, a dispute that began at a gas station in Birmingham, Alabama, tragically escalated, ending the life of 40-year-old Ogle Terrance Avery. The incident, which occurred on February 17, 2021, led to a swift investigation and ultimately resulted in a life sentence for the man responsible for the shooting.
The events of that day unfolded on 3rd Avenue West, between Rookwood and Legion Fields, where an initial altercation at a gas station spiraled into a fatal
shooting. Avery was identified as the victim of the gun violence. In the immediate aftermath, Birmingham police began a homicide investigation, which initially led to a woman being charged in connection with the deadly shooting.
Further investigation, however, pointed to Carmichael Khalifia Clark as the primary suspect.
