On a Tuesday in late November, the life of 37-year-old Timothy Darius Biffle was tragically cut short. The male victim was found inside a silver Chevrolet Impala that had crashed into a utility pole in the 1700 block of Eastern Valley Road in unincorporated Jefferson County, Alabama, on November 23, 2021. Initially, the scene appeared to be the result of a traffic accident, but first responders soon discovered that Biffle had sustained a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office determined that the shooting had actually occurred at the intersection of Eastern Valley Road and First Street in Bessemer. Evidence suggested that after being shot, Biffle attempted to flee in his vehicle, ultimately crashing about a half-mile away from where the shooting took place. His death was officially ruled a homicide.
In the days following the incident, authorities announced that they had a person of interest in custody, and a suspect was later charged in connection with Biffle's death. The investigation led to the arrest of 27-year-old Tradon Tyez Bivins. He was formally charged with the murder of Timothy Biffle. Bivins was taken into custody and held at the Jefferson County Jail.
