On the morning of March 25, 2015, a sense of normalcy in Bridgeport, Connecticut was shattered by a sudden act of violence. Hakeem Sonny Joseph, a 32-year-old male, was working as a clerk at his family's business, the T Market, located at 1482 Reservoir Avenue. Shortly before 8 a.m., a man entered the store and irrevocably altered the lives of the Joseph family.

He was dressed in desert camouflage pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and had his face partially obscured.
