On September 25, 2020, 27-year-old Ladarrius Jamiel Brooks was found deceased in his apartment at the Watertown Lodge Apartments in Birmingham, Alabama. Emergency responders arrived shortly after 4:00 a.m. to address a fire in the complex. Upon extinguishing the flames, they discovered Brooks's body inside the apartment.
