On April 20, 2020, 16-year-old Taylor Akin was tragically killed in a high-speed car accident near Bessemer, Alabama. Akin was a passenger in a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 17-year-old friend. The vehicle was traveling south on 15th Street Road at approximately 115 mph when it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck attempting to turn onto CCC Camp Road.
