On October 20, 2014, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, 39-year-old Billy Ingram was fatally shot. The Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit, established earlier that month, took charge of the investigation. This unit was a collaborative effort among the District Attorney’s Office, Cedar Bluff Police Department, Centre Police Department, Leesburg Police Department, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, aimed at enhancing the investigation of major crimes in the county.
