On October 7, 2019, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of 9th Avenue West, located in the College Hills neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Johnathan Tadarius Peoples lying unresponsive in the front yard of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
