In the early morning hours of July 5, 2019, the body of 23-year-old Heather Suzan Roberson, a White/Caucasian female, was discovered in a grassy area near railroad tracks in the 700 block of Antwerp Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham Police officers responded to a call at approximately 7:13 a.m. and found the young woman deceased at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified her through fingerprint analysis and determined that she had died from a gunshot wound.
Heather, a resident of Eastaboga, was remembered by her family as a vibrant and smiling individual who made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a mother, survived by her young son, Jace. Her family acknowledged that she faced challenges common among young people. A memorial service was held for her on July 12, 2019, at Radney-Smith Chapel in Sylacauga, Alabama.
The Birmingham Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Heather Roberson's death. Despite their efforts, as of late 2024, no arrests have been made in connection with her murder. The case remains an open and active investigation. Authorities have continued to urge anyone with information regarding the case to come forward and contact the Birmingham Police Department's Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers to help bring closure to her grieving family.
