On April 28, 2019, 38-year-old Omari Sharad Pollnitz was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at Nu Vision Auto Detail, a car detailing shop located in the 2800 block of Bessemer Road. Responding to a Shot Spotter alert indicating gunfire in the area, Birmingham Police officers arrived to find Pollnitz unresponsive in the doorway of the establishment. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
