On March 10, 2019, 45-year-old Octavia Dortch was found unresponsive in her vehicle near Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert around 7 a.m., police discovered Dortch had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
