On October 29, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., 36-year-old Rayshard Richey was found with multiple gunshot wounds at Monnish Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Investigations revealed that Richey had been involved in an argument over money with his cousin, 40-year-old Robert Williams, during which Williams allegedly shot him multiple times. Williams was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder.
