On February 6, 2019, the body of Fredrick O'Neal Harris, a 63-year-old Black male, was discovered on the side of a road in Lipscomb, Alabama. Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office determined that Harris had been slain. He was a United States Army veteran and was remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
According to reports, Harris was last seen on February 2, 2019, in the Center Point area, four days before his body was found by a FedEx driver.
It was apparent to investigators that his body had been at the location for at least one night.
The death of Fredrick Harris is being investigated as a homicide. Law enforcement officials and Harris's family have appealed to the public for assistance in solving the case. Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama has offered a cash award for information that leads to an arrest in connection with his murder. As of now, the case remains unsolved, and no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested.
