On April 27, 2019, at approximately 1:00 a.m., 32-year-old Jatwan Oshay Holman was fatally shot in the front yard of a residence on County Road 807, just outside Maplesville, Alabama. Responding to reports of gunfire, officers from the Chilton County Sheriff's Office and the Maplesville Police Department arrived to find Holman with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate first aid efforts and the arrival of emergency medical services, Holman was pronounced dead at the scene.
