David Gibbs Westbrook Jr., a 50-year-old Black man from Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically shot and killed on May 23, 2022. Westbrook, a respected research scientist and lab manager at the University of Alabama Medical Center, was known for his dedication to studying cardiac and renal diseases.
