On November 26, 2023, at approximately 6:15 p.m., 30-year-old Dimetri Leon Phillips of Cordova, Alabama, was fatally shot while stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 78 and North Main Street in Graysville. Witnesses reported that a small red or maroon sedan, displaying a white, yellow, and green car lot tag, approached Phillips's vehicle.
