On January 25, 2019, 29-year-old LaQuintin Deon Wright was fatally shot during a confrontation at the GM Lounge on Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred when Wright and 33-year-old JaGorren Jimmie Kelly engaged in a shootout inside the establishment. Investigators determined that Kelly shot Wright, resulting in his death.
