Bessemer Police have filed capital murder charges against Derrick Lamonte Todd, Jr. in relation to a homicide that occurred near Splash Adventure Parkway on May 15.
Todd is currently being held without the possibility of bond. Authorities report that the victim, 59-year-old William Barry Brannan from West Blocton, was fatally shot on Interstate 20/59 between the I-459 and Splash Adventure Parkway exits between 5 and 6 a.m.
