He was a devoted father to his 13-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter.
On the evening of July 12, 2009, Paul Gayle was senselessly shot and killed near
his apartment in the 4700 block of North 35th Street. Earlier that day, he had called the mother of his children, Bindu Derksen, telling her he needed to see her without providing further explanation. Tragically, he never made it. He was found by an unidentified assailant who shot him. After he failed to show up and wasn't answering his phone, Bindu's worst fears were confirmed when police notified her of his death.
