In the early moments of April 24, 2024, a harrowing scene unfolded inside a Milwaukee, Wisconsin residence that would end the life of 29-year-old Tremyne Demetrius Schwinn. A Black / African American male, Schwinn found himself in a terrifying situation when an armed intruder broke into the home located near 48th and Lloyd Street. Just before midnight, he made a desperate call to 911, speaking in hushed tones to report the break-in. While on the line with dispatch, the call captured the chilling sounds of a loud bang, a gunshot, and a noise consistent with someone falling.
The voice of another man then became audible on the call, uttering threats. Police were dispatched for a burglary in progress, and upon arrival, they found the scene in disarray. The front door appeared to have been kicked in. Inside, they discovered Schwinn deceased in the attic, the very place he had indicated he was hiding during his 911 call. The investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Andre Nash, had allegedly forced his way into the home, assaulted a female resident who was an ex-girlfriend, and then fatally shot Schwinn.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Nash reportedly abducted two children from the residence in an attempt to obscure his crimes. He has since been charged with a slate of felonies, including first-degree reckless homicide, burglary, two counts of child abduction, and misdemeanor battery. Despite the charges, Andre Nash remains at large, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Authorities are actively seeking information from the public regarding his whereabouts to bring him into custody.
