In the cold of a Milwaukee winter, the life of 25-year-old Brandon Turner, an African-American male, was cut short by gunfire on the evening of February 24, 2015. The fatal shooting occurred near 40th and Locust, a neighborhood that would become the backdrop to a family's long and unanswered questions. In the immediate aftermath, police identified Turner as the victim, but the circumstances surrounding his death remained shrouded in mystery.
