A Navy Seaman returns home to find his wife murdered In the winter of 1985, the life of 20-year-old Lisa Ann Jolley, a white female, was tragically cut short in her Virginia Beach, Virginia, apartment. On the morning of Friday, January 25th, her husband, an active-duty U.S. Navy enlisted man, saw her for the last time as she slept in their home in the 5600 block of Barnaby Court before he departed for work. His return later that day, at approximately 5:00 p.m., would unravel a scene of horror.
Upon entering their residence, Mr.
Jolley discovered his wife submerged and fully clothed in a bathtub filled with water. Emergency services were called to the scene, but it was too late. Lisa Ann Jolley was pronounced deceased. Investigators noted that there were no apparent signs of a forced entry into the apartment, suggesting that the perpetrator may have been known to the victim or gained access to the home without a struggle.
The subsequent autopsy conducted by the State Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of Lisa Ann Jolley's death was asphyxiation, and her death was officially ruled a homicide.
