In the quiet community of Oak Level, Virginia, a grim discovery shattered the morning calm on August 15, 2002. Michael Wayne Short, a 50-year-old White male, was found deceased in his home. An employee, arriving for work, happened upon the tragic scene. Michael had been shot in the head and was found on a couch in the garage area of his residence.
