In the autumn of 2016, a 34-year-old Chinese American man named Quan Zheng sought to build a better life for his family. Having recently moved from New York City to Chesterfield County, Virginia, he began a new job as a chef at a Chinese takeout restaurant. Tragically, only his third day into this new chapter, on the evening of September 16, 2016, his aspirations were brutally cut short in Richmond.
