On December 1, 2007, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Houston police responded to a shooting incident at 9000 Town Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of Rigoberto Yak Xamimes, a male in his 20s, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim, 23-year-old Jorge Yak, had been shot in the leg and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in good condition.
