In the late summer of 2016, the life of 18-year-old Osbaldo Zavala-Hernandez was tragically cut short in Denver, Colorado. On the evening of August 21st, Denver Police Department officers were dispatched to 3480 S. Galena Street following a report of shots fired. Upon their arrival, they discovered Zavala-Hernandez lying on the sidewalk, suffering from what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate response from Denver Paramedics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Known affectionately as 'Ozzy' to his friends and family, Zavala-Hernandez was a young man with a passion for working on cars. He was born on May 27, 1998, in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico. Those who knew him remembered his perpetual smile and his knack for telling a funny story or joke. He was known for being kind to everyone, which was reflected in his large circle of close friends. He had attended Adams City High School and Lester Arnold High School and had recently begun working for Mark Young Construction. He shared a special bond with his mother.
The investigation into the death of Osbaldo Zavala-Hernandez was launched as a homicide. However, despite the efforts of the Denver Police Department, the case grew cold. To this day, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his murder.
