Aurelio Solano, 51, was killed in a shooting that occurred on August 20, 2014, in Houston, Texas. The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. at the 14759 Memorial Drive area. According to Houston Police, Solano was shot and killed by unknown suspects during an altercation that also left two others wounded. Witnesses described the suspects as two Black males in their twenties; one of them was approximately 5'9" to 6'0" tall with a thin build and a goatee. Both suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The investigation was taken up by the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, and a surveillance video along with photos of the suspects were released to the public in the hope of identifying the perpetrators. Despite these efforts, no arrests were initially made, and the case remained unsolved for some time. The Cold Case Squad of the Homicide Division, which was formed to address unsolved murder cases in Houston, was also involved in this case, reviewing old leads and evidence in hopes of finding new information that could lead to an arrest.

Solano's tragic death is one of the many violent crimes the city has been grappling with, and law enforcement has maintained a focus on gathering any new leads that might help bring justice for Solano and his family.
