Rafael Segovia, age 34, was shot and killed on December 13, 2014, while visiting his girlfriend in southwest Houston. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located in the 8900 block of Bissonnet Street. Segovia had just parked his car and was walking towards the apartment when he was approached and shot multiple times. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene upon their arrival.
Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect fleeing the scene. The suspect was described as wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, and he left the area in a black, late-model SUV. The Houston Police Department launched an investigation and appealed for information from the public, but no immediate arrests were made. The investigation was part of a broader effort by the HPD Homicide Division to tackle violent crimes in the area.
