On August 17, 2015, Yvette Rodriguez, 26, and her boyfriend David Chavez, 24, were shot to death while sitting in a car outside Rodriguez's family home on Edinburg Street in southeast Houston. The couple was killed late at night, around 10:30 p.m., when someone approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots. Neighbors reported hearing four to five gunshots, but no one saw the shooter or noticed any suspicious vehicles nearby.
