On April 11, 2017, at approximately 12:07 p.m., 31-year-old Phillippa Dever was fatally shot while seated in the backseat of a vehicle at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and State Highway 288 in Houston, Texas. Dever and two friends were stopped at a traffic light when a small white sedan pulled alongside their vehicle. Occupants of the sedan opened fire, striking Dever and the front passenger.
