Do you know who killed Hatem?
Hatem Abuharbed, known to many as "Tim," was killed on February 7, 2016, during an armed robbery at the convenience store where he worked in Houston, Texas. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. at the store located in the 4600 block of North Main Street. Surveillance footage showed two suspects entering the store with their faces covered. They demanded money and subsequently shot Abuharbed before fleeing the scene. He was pronounced dead on site from the gunshot injuries.
The murder of Abuharbed drew considerable public attention, and the local community was left in shock by the senseless nature of the crime. Houston Police Department launched an investigation, gathering evidence and releasing surveillance footage in the hope of identifying the perpetrators. Despite these efforts, the case has faced challenges due to the limited leads and lack of conclusive evidence. Crime Stoppers offered a reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, urging the community to help bring those responsible to justice.
Abuharbed’s death is one of several incidents that contributed to concerns about violence against convenience store workers, a population particularly vulnerable to late-night robberies. His family and the Houston community continue to seek answers and justice, with police encouraging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division.
